If you are prescribed a controlled substance, you must be seen at least once every three months for pharmacies to continue filling prescriptions. Staying compliant helps avoid interruptions in your care.
Telehealth coverage
Please check with your insurer about telehealth benefits and visit limits. Many plans now require at least one or two in-person visits each year, and new patients are typically seen in person first.
About coverage for mental health care
Many people start with psychotherapy elsewhere and/or medication. For conditions such as depression and OCD, additional treatments like TMS may be considered when medications are not enough or cause significant side effects.
TMS coverage varies by plan. Deep TMS has strong acceptance for major depressive disorder and has also been FDA-cleared for OCD and smoking cessation. Where covered, patients typically pay the co-pay set by their plan.
